On Monday, July 30, 2018 the auto industry came out to support the 6th Automotive Industry Golf Challenge benefiting the Rhonda Walker Foundation at the prestigious Oakland Hills Country Club. Almost 300 golfers joined title sponsor Lear Corporation for a great day of golf with the purpose of supporting RWF’s mission to empower inner city teens girls.
Guests were treated to premier gifts, an amazing champagne brunch, cigar bar, caddies, great silent auction items, an opportunity to win a trip for two on a private jet to the 2019 Masters, custom RWF putters from our sponsor Cobra Metalworks and our annual Executive Leadership Live Auction. The exciting auction gave the winners the opportunity to have lunch or dinner with purchasing executives from Ford, FCA and Toyota. We even had a surprise auction item to have lunch with Calvin Johnson, retired Detroit Lion.
This year our auction raised $165,000 for the RWF Scholarship Fund for inner city teen girls. We want to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s golf challenge an amazing success. We especially want to thank all of our sponsors and our in-kind donors for their on-going support.
