Each May at our annual Scholar Power Scholarship Breakfast, the RWF honors our graduating high school seniors who have completed the 5-year comprehensive Girls Into Women program. The teens give moving speeches in which they share their experiences and accomplishments, tell how they’ve grown, and provide rousing testimonials about what being part of the RWF family has meant to them. Scholar Power always provides a great opportunity to learn about the RWF and our Teens.
In addition to supporting the RWF teens through the formative teenage years by emphasizing academic excellence, we recognize our graduating seniors’ hard work by awarding scholarships that they can use to continue their education in college. Since the RWF was founded in 2003, 100% of the teens who have completed the Girls Into Women program have graduated from high school and gone on to college. And in that time, through our fundraising efforts and with the generous support of donors and friends like you, we have given out more than $30,000.00 in scholarships.
This year’s Scholar Power Scholarship Breakfast is set for Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Westin Southfield Detroit Hotel.
