We have had such a memorable 15th year at the Rhonda Walker Foundation! Our teens have had more opportunities, new experiences and given more back to their community.
We launched our RWF Cares Community Service initiative volunteering at food banks, snap chatting with elders, making tutus and capes for children battling cancer and care packages for their families and caretakers and gathered stuffed animals for children recovering from burns. Finishing the year with our 16th Annual Christmas Party for the Homeless benefiting the women and children at Genesis House II.
Our donors and supporters joined us for a special celebration honoring our president and founder, Rhonda Walker as she celebrated her 20th anniversary in Detroit media and the 15th anniversary of founding RWF. See all of the fabulous photos in our XX/XV Photo Gallery.
We took to the road traveling north to Drummond Island to learn about life in the upper peninsula and to have some winter time fun. Our largest class of juniors ever took our annual cross country trip to visit historically black colleges and universities. We ended our year of adventure by boarding a bus for Washington, DC to learn about our history at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and Mount Vernon.
Its not too late to get in on the celebration. Please consider making a $15 Donation to celebrate each of our 15 years of empowering inner city teens girls! We are looking forward to expanding our programming next year and providing our amazing RWF Teens with even more life changing experiences.
