The Empowering Her Success Academy is an out-of-school program of the Rhonda Walker Foundation (RWF). The program aims to provide opportunities for growth and enrichment for girls in grades 4th-7th in partnership with Stellantis at MacDowell Preparatory Academy.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS/COLLEGE PREP

The EHSA Academic Success/College Prep pillar provides girls with the tools necessary to be successful academically as they prepare for middle school and high school. Activities include tutoring, exploration of high schools (particularly Detroit’s premier schools), and virtual tours of local colleges.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

This pillar focuses on building confidence, self-awareness, leadership, and goal-setting skills, helping girls become resilient and self-assured individuals.

Promote self-esteem and identity development through activities like journaling, vision boards, and group discussions.

CAREER EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT

EHSA Girls are introduced to a wide range of careers and are encouraged to explore their interests and talents while learning from professionals across diverse industries.

MENTORING

EHSA Girls receive guidance and support from positive female mentors, helping them build trust, set goals, and navigate challenges during their formative years.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

This pillar emphasizes the importance of physical, emotional, and mental well-being, empowering girls to take care of their bodies and minds.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

This pillar cultivates empathy, social responsibility, and global awareness by encouraging girls to engage with and appreciate diverse communities and cultures.
